The set includes two popular blade styles – a 6" utility knife and 8" chef's knife – each handcrafted of high-carbon stainless steel for exceptional strength, rigidity and edge retention. The traditional Japanese D-shape Pakkawood handle is polished to a high shine to bring out the wood's red and black tones, and it features a stainless-steel bolster and end-cap embossed with the Shun logo. The set arrives beautifully packaged with individual leather sheaths and an aluminum storage case for safe storage and transport.

    Use & Care

    Use

    • Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
    • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass.
    • It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.

    Care

    • Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
    • Use honing steel regularly to maintain cutting edge of blades.
    • Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, knives should not need sharpening more than once or twice per year.
    • Sharpen knives at home using whetstone or knife sharpener, or have them sharpened by a professional.
    • Store knives in safe place to protect edges and prevent injury.
