    FLAVOR PROFILE

    • Toasted sourdough bread, garlic, rosemary, sage, thyme

    WHY WE LOVE IT

    • Our organic stuffing mix is inspired by traditional San Francisco recipes. Showcasing the rich flavor and hearty texture of the city's signature bread, it combines crisp, golden cubes of toasted sourdough with aromatic garlic, rosemary, sage and thyme. Prep is simple – just add a few fresh ingredients and bake. The stuffing makes a great side dish for turkey, chicken or pork roasts, and a time-saving base for your own homemade stuffing.

    PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

    Ingredients

    • 4 Tbs. (1/2 stick/60g) unsalted butter, cubed, plus more for greasing
    • 1 large yellow onion, diced
    • 3 large celery stalks, diced
    • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
    • Freshly ground pepper
    • 1 package stuffing mix (included)
    • 3 1/2–4 cups (875 ml–1L) turkey, chicken or vegetable stock, warmed

    Directions

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter 9" x 13" (23cm x 33cm) baking dish.
    • In large sauté pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion, celery, salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until onion is soft and translucent, approx. 8–10 minutes. Transfer onion mixture to very large bowl, add stuffing mix and toss until combined.
    • Add stock 1 cup (250ml) at a time. Using your hands or wooden spoon, lift croutons from bottom and fold over top. Before adding more stock, make sure liquid is evenly absorbed and does not pool in bottom of bowl. Some croutons may crumble during this process. Taste a crouton – it should be moist throughout and spongy. For classic-style stuffing, you may not need to use all the stock. If you prefer stuffing with texture of bread pudding, use all 4 cups (1L) of stock. Let mixture stand for 20 minutes to allow croutons to hydrate, folding mixture from bottom over top halfway through.
    • Transfer stuffing mixture to prepared baking dish. Cover with buttered sheet of foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until top is golden brown and crisp, approx. 25–30 minutes more. Let stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving. Makes 10–12 servings.
