The slow-simmered sauce combines vine-ripened tomatoes, savory veal demi-glace, extra-virgin olive oil, sweet red bell peppers, garlic and spices for rich, savory flavors. Simply heat the sauce with sautéed ground beef or turkey and serve on soft white buns.

Receiving Instructions

• Store unopened at room temperature for up to 18 months. Refrigerate after opening and use within 7 days.
• Shake before use.

Preparation Instructions

• 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
• 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
• 1 jar Sloppy Joe starter
• 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted

In sauté pan over medium-high heat, warm oil.

Add ground beef and cook until browned, 10 to 12 minutes, using wooden spoon to break up any large chunks.

Add starter; bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.

Divide sloppy joe mixture among buns and serve immediately.

Sloppy Joe Starter is also great with ground turkey.
