- Generations of Tuscan cooks have turned to their gardens for fresh vegetables and herbs to enhance homemade beef braises. Inspired by this tradition, our slow-simmered sauce features beef stock, mushrooms, carrots and onions with aromatic rosemary, oregano and thyme. A splash of red wine adds rich, hearty flavor. For a quick and easy meal, just combine the time-saving sauce with seared beef, then finish it in the oven or slow cooker.

Use & Care
RECEIVING INSTRUCTIONS
- Sauce ships fresh at ambient temperature.
- Upon receipt, store unopened at room temperature in cool, dry place for up to 18 months. Once opened, store in refrigerator and enjoy within 6 months.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Season 3–4 lb. (1.5–2kg) boneless beef chuck roast with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper.
- In large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, warm 2 Tbs. of oil. Brown beef on all sides, approx. 8–10 minutes.
- Slow cooker: Transfer beef to insert and add braising sauce. Cover and cook on high until beef is fork-tender, approx. 4–5 hours. Skim fat off sauce, carve and serve.
- Dutch oven: Add braising sauce and 1 cup (250ml) of water. Bring to a simmer. Cover pot tightly with aluminum foil, then cover with lid. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Cook until beef is fork-tender, approx. 2 1/2–3 hours. Skim fat off sauce, carve and serve.
