Use & Care

Use

• Before first use, fill kettle to maximum line and boil on manual mode. Discard water and repeat 2–3 times.
• Do not fill past maximum line – boiling over may occur and cause burns.
• Always ensure lid is securely in place before using.
• Kettle enters standby mode after 30 seconds of inactivity; wake it by turning knob or pressing any button.
• If kettle boils dry, it will automatically shut off. Wait 20 minutes to cool, then refill and resume using.

Care

• Unplug kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning.
• Do not immerse kettle or base in water.
• Wipe control panel clean with slightly damp sponge.
• Avoid using abrasive cleaning materials.
• Clean exterior with nonabrasive cleaner and soft cloth. Polish in direction of grain.
• Hand-wash carafe and lid in warm, soapy water. Do not use steel wool or strong detergents.
• To descale or remove discoloration, add 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar and fill carafe to max. line with water. Heat to 212°F on manual mode. Discard water and rinse thoroughly.
• Always empty kettle after use to prevent scale buildup.
