    Use & Care

    Use

    • For indoor or outdoor use.

    Care

    • Upon receipt, gently remove plant from box, place in sunny location and water thoroughly.
    • Indoors, hydrangea should be placed in bright light. Water lightly as needed. Outdoors, hydrangea should be planted in full sun but can transition to partial shade.
    • Water regularly. Hydrangeas do not like dry or soggy soil.
    • To plant in the ground, dig hole twice the size of hydrangea root ball. Gently remove hydrangea from container and place in hole. Add or remove soil from bottom if needed. Backfill soil around plant and press firmly to remove any air pockets.
    • To plant in container, select a container twice the size of hydrangea root ball. Fill bottom 1/4 of container with crushed rock or gravel to encourage drainage. Fill the rest of container with planting mix and hydrangea. Backfill soil around plant and press firmly to remove any air pockets.
    • Hydrangea blooms change color based on soil pH, which is a measure of how alkaline or acidic the soil is. Flowers turn pink to red in alkaline soil, and lavender to blue in acidic soil. Most garden centers carry products you can add to soil to help achieve your desired color.
