Care

• Filter basket, carafe and lid are top-rack dishwasher safe. Alternatively, hand-wash in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Dry all parts after each use.
• Do not put water in unit after filter basket is removed.
• Wipe area under filter basket clean with damp cloth.
• Avoid using scouring agents and harsh cleansers.
• Wipe base clean with damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before storing.
• To remove fingerprints and other blemishes on housing, use soap and water or nonabrasive cleaning solution.
• Wipe resting plate clean with damp cloth. Avoid using rough, abrasive materials and cleansers.
• Do not dry inside of water reservoir with cloth, as it may shed lint.
• Descaling: Depending on mineral content of water in your area, calcium deposits (scale) may build up in coffee maker. Although scale is nontoxic, it can affect performance. Descaling when CLEAN light is illuminated helps protect heating element and other parts that come in contact with water. For optimal performance, descale coffee maker every 3–6 months. If calcium deposits build up quickly, CLEAN light will illuminate, indicating coffee maker should be descaled. See instructions in product manual.

Single-Serve Brewer

Care

• Drip trays, drip tray plates and removable capsule holders are dishwasher safe.
• Wipe housing and other external components clean with damp, soapy, nonabrasive cloth.
• Avoid using cleansers, steel wool pads and other abrasive materials.
• Capsule holder and funnel are top-rack dishwasher safe.
• Caution: Handle capsule holder with care. It contains sharp needles that puncture capsule above and below. To avoid risk of injury, do not put fingers in capsule brewing chamber.
• If clog arises because of coffee grounds, clean exit needle and piercing needle with paper clip or similar tool.
• Descaling: Depending on mineral content of water in your area, calcium deposits (scale) may accumulate in single-serve brewer. Although scale is nontoxic, it can affect performance. Descaling when CLEAN light is illuminated helps protect heating element and other parts that come in contact with water. For optimal performance, descale single-serve brewer every 3–6 months. If calcium deposits build up quickly, CLEAN light will illuminate, indicating single-serve brewer should be descaled. Before descaling, remove charcoal water filter from holder located in water reservoir. See instructions in product manual.
• Steam Wand: Always clean wand after steaming milk. Wipe wand clean with damp cloth after use, then fill cup or mug with water and use Steam function as if you are frothing milk. This will release any remaining milk from inside wand. To clean thoroughly, twist off wand to remove it. Wipe steam tube underneath wand clean with damp cloth.
• If steam tube is blocked, use paper clip or similar tool to clear opening. Move wand over drip tray and purge wand by using Steam function.
