Its cooking repertoire now includes browning/sautéing, steaming, baking, and making soup and rice. The innovative Thermolon™ Volt healthy ceramic nonstick coating on the inner pot allows you to cook a range of ingredients in a variety of ways. Start on one setting such as Brown/Sauté, then finish the dish on Slow Cook or Bake.     Use & Care

    Use

    • Inner pot is heat-resistant to 390°F. When cooking on gas stovetop, adjust flame so it does not flare up sides. For standard electric stovetops, use Medium setting. Do not use higher settings.
    • To reduce risk of electrical shock, cook only in removable inner pot.
    • Use tongs or other heat-safe utensils to remove food. Do not pour out of appliance.
    • Caution: Metal housing will become hot during use. Do not touch hot surfaces.
    • Supervise closely when appliance is used by or near children.
    • Do not operate appliance if cord or plug is damaged. Do not operate if appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
    • Do not use attachments other than those recommended by manufacturer. Using unauthorized attachments may cause damage and injuries.
    • Brown/Sauté: For best results, use small amount of oil or butter suited to frying. Avoid using low-smoke-point oil or aerosol sprays that do not withstand high heat. When oil is simmering hot, add ingredients to be browned. Cook for a few minutes on all sides.
    • Caution: Pot will become especially hot when using Brown/Sauté function. Use heat-resistant gloves or oven mitts and keep hands and face away from pan, as hot oil may splatter. Small amounts of smoke may be generated by browning process. If excessive smoke or splatter occurs, turn off and unplug slow cooker until it subsides. Do not pour water or other liquid in slow cooker during Brown/Sauté function.
    • Steam: Use with steam rack. Add 1" of water to pot. Longer cook times may require more water.

    Care

    • Before cleaning, unplug slow cooker and allow it to cool.
    • Inner pot, lid and steaming rack are dishwasher safe.
    • Wipe exterior clean with damp sponge or cloth.
    • Do not immerse cord, plug or body in water or other liquid.
    • Avoid using scouring pads, powders and chemical detergents.
