Use & Care
Use
- For use with standard (20-lb.) liquid propane gas tanks (not included).
- Not suitable for use with natural gas.
- Make sure grill is at least 20" away from combustibles on sides and 18" away in back.
- Ensure grill is placed on level surface.
- Check power cord for twists, damage or fraying.
- Inspect tank hose. If you see evidence of abrasion, wear, cuts or leaks, replace hose before using grill.
- Check fuel level.
- Ensure propane tank is properly connected and valve is open.
- Check EZ-Clean™ Grease Keg. If full, remove liner and replace with new one.
- Always keep lid open when preheating and cooking.
- Preheat grill for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
Care
- While grill is still hot, use scraper to move residue from cooktop to grease chute. Ensure contents are cool before discarding.
- Use tongs to hold clean towel or paper towel. Lightly oil cooktop with canola oil or other high-smoke-point cooking oil, such as flax oil or grapeseed oil. Use towel to create thin layer of oil that covers entire cooktop and side walls. Heat until smoking ends – approx. 10 minutes.
- Turn all knobs to off position, close lid and shut off propane tank valve.
- Allow grill to cool completely before cleaning further.
- To clean exterior, use cloth towel or paper towel and Traeger All Natural Cleaner. Do not use Traeger All Natural Cleaner on cooktop.
- To clean burners, remove from grill by unscrewing fasteners on brackets. Insert pen tip or paper clip into burner inlet hole to clear debris.
- Grease chute is dishwasher safe. Reinstall in grill before using again.
- Once grill is cool and clean, cover with Traeger Flatrock™ Grill Cover (not included).
- Before storing grill or before extended period of nonuse, remove burners and wrap them with aluminum foil. This will help prevent damage from pests.
